Chem-Trend Surpasses Key 2025 Goals and Continues Commitment to PFAS-Free Portfolio in New Responsibility Report

Chem-Trend, a company of the Freudenberg Chemical Specialities Group and a global leader in the development of high-quality release agents, purging compounds, paper impregnation chemicals, additives, and other process chemicals, has released their latest Responsibility Report. The new report highlights Chem-Trend’s 2024 achievements in environmental stewardship, including meeting ambitious sustainability goals and its continued commitment to providing a portfolio free of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Also detailed within is a wide range of efforts to support employee growth and contribute to local communities.

Just one year away from the 2025 target, Chem-Trend has exceeded most of its goals, some by considerable margins. The most notable accomplishment is a 40% reduction in CO2 from 2020, which surpassed the initial target of 25%. In 2025, the installation of a closed-loop water chiller at the company’s North American facility supports ongoing efforts to achieve water consumption goals. The use of recycled materials and waste reduction are also steadily progressing to meet targets.

In collaboration with global customers, Chem-Trend has also effectively discontinued production of PFAS-containing products at all global manufacturing sites in 2024, while supporting customers’ successful transitions to PFAS-free alternatives. The company’s strategic focus remains steadfast on delivering an innovative range of high-performance, water-based, and PFAS-free solutions across every industry and region they serve.

“Our social responsibility and environmental leadership are reflected in the actions we take daily. We are tracking towards meeting our 2025 environmental targets through a strong collective drive to always do better.”
