Chem-Trend’s Sustainability Report Offers a Unique Employee-Centered Perspective
Chem-Trend, a global leader in the development of high-performance release agents, purging compounds, and other ancillary molding products, released its latest Sustainability Report today. The new report spotlights the company’s current progress through the perspectives of Chem-Trend’s Global Sustainability Advisory Team (GSAT) members. Goals for emissions and material waste — including a 99% reduction in water usage by 2025 — are highlighted in the report.
Readers of the report will find discussions about initiatives, big and small, including:
- How a Korean site’s switch to LED lights is expected to cut energy usage by up to 50 percent.
- New technology that allows operators to set limits and monitor product concentration levels in real time to reduce resource use.
- Minimizing water waste through controlled use of lubricant that requires no dilution.
- Closed-loop recycling of concentrated purging compound grades into new products.
The GSAT, which was founded in 2017 with the mission to create pathways to greater sustainability, comprises Chem-Trend employees from around the world.
“By telling these stories through the eyes of the GSAT, we provide a unique employee view of the actions being taken at every level in the company. The new report quantifies our progress with hard numbers and expansive goals — and it also conveys how people in all corners of our organization are making positive changes with long-term benefits for the sustainability of our company and that of our customers,” says Mike Ward, Global Sustainability Officer.
