Chem-Trend Expands by Acquiring Huron Technologies
Chem-Trend, a global leader in the development, production and marketing of high-performance release agents, purging compounds and other ancillary molding products, today announced the acquisition of the Huron Technologies, Inc. business, a worldwide source of customized mold release agents and related products for multiple molding applications.
The full product line from Huron Technologies – including release agents, mold conditioners, cleaners and flushes –is now an integral part of the Chem-Trend portfolio. The deal provides additional product technology, manufacturing and process know-how, raw material sources and customer segments to Chem-Trend.
“This acquisition will help us strengthen our product offering to the polyurethane industry while providing us with unique growth opportunities into other segments, such as friction products and concrete molding,” said Chem-Trend President and CEO Devanir Moraes. “By adding the products of Huron Technologies to Chem-Trend, we will provide end users and distribution partners with a more comprehensive range of release systems and complementary molding process aids that create even greater value, efficiency and productivity.”
G. Clarke Borgeson founded Huron Technologies, a recognized and respected producer of mold release systems, in 1991. Borgeson is confident that the acquisition by Chem-Trend will benefit Huron’s loyal customers and their processes, as well as enhance Chem-Trend’s customized product offering.
“Much like Chem-Trend, Huron Technologies has advanced the industry with performance-oriented products, scientific know-how and quality service,” said Borgeson. “Our reputation is similar to that of Chem-Trend. We value high quality innovative release products, leading-edge technology and exceptional support and service. Customers should feel a sense of confidence that the technologists and engineers at Chem-Trend will continue to improve productivity using the Huron Technologies acquired know-how.”
By combining the breadth of the two companies’ release agent technologies and product lines, Chem-Trend will be in a stronger position to help customers protect their tooling investment, maximize operational productivity and improve part quality.
